Never seen a heart any kinder...

Sunday, 4 January 2009 . 18:56

For the past few years every once in a while

I'd visit the old home and greet all with a smile.

I'd walk in slowly, approach her bed

pull my tongue out and tilt my head,

She'd smile and giggle with those expressive eyes

filled with love and kindness backed with years so wise!

She was a woman, gentle, caring and bold,

but what struck me most was her heart of gold.

she put great love in anything she did,

especially anything to do with kids!

She would catch my hand and run her fingers through mine

and wouldn't stop until it was time.

She delighted when she heard or saw a bird;

Simple actions; a message beyond words.

Its true as they say, actions do speak loudest,

and "the pure of heart" will truly be blessed!

She'd wear a smile as long as she could

and in each situation brought out the good.

She'd comment forever about the dimples we wear

and it's not the first time i'd offer to lend her my pair:

"Ja wicc ta Mqarba" she'd look at me and say

and i'm known to be so right till this day.

I'm proud to have known her and made her smile,

and if there was time I'd have gone an extra mile.

A long lived life, 88 years,

And she's touched many lives so no wonder our tears...

But she's gone now to a far away place

filled with joy, love and grace,

where she finally sees the Saviour's face,

and forever will rest in Love's embrace.
